Fluval Spec V SPS Dominate Reef Checklist

Here is everything that I’m using for my SPS dominate reef in a Fluval Spec V. The prices are in Canadian dollars including taxes and shipping. There are many places where I could have saved money, but this is what I spent.

Hardware

  • Fluval Spec V (included lighting can’t be used) – $135
  • Cobalt Aquatics 75W heater (for mixing salt water, 75w) – $55
  • sBox Sprite – Reef (84W LED lighting with legs) – $162
  • DIY Stand To Hang Light (1/2″ Pipe/Connectors from Home Depot) – $40
  • Jebao PP-4 Wavemaker + Controller – $93
  • 20z 100% Polyester Fiber (for mechanical filtration) – $8
  • Egg Crate (Only need a very small amount of this for filter) – $16

Rocks & Sand

  • 1 piece of dry “Tufa” from Petsmart – $14
  • 1 Piece of Reef Saver dry rock 4.5lb – Sale for $8 total
  • 3-4lb Live Rock (with coraline) with 2 toxic green mushrooms. – $35
  • 1 Bag – Seachem Pearl Beach Sand 3.5kg (7.7lbs) – $36
